This is a side dish that I always order when I get a steak. Anytime I make them I have people ask me for the recipe and it is so simple! Thought I might share it.
You Will Need:
1 Container of Button Mushrooms (Clean with a damp towel, never put under running water...they drink it up!)
1 cup Beef Broth or Stock (Swanson's Low-Sodium is what I always use)
1/2 cup good Red Wine (No cooking wine guys...ever. Use the real stuff, it doesn't have to be expensive. Just good quality.)
1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
2 tablespoons of Butter
1 tablespoon of Garlic Powder
1 tablespoon of Dried Minced Onion (You can use Onion Powder instead.)
Salt and Pepper to taste.
Here's What You Do:
Clean mushrooms with a damp towel.
Add mushrooms to next 6 ingredients and bring to a light boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Salt and Pepper to taste.
Enjoy with a good steak or even with pork or chicken!
